Government and Opp agree on the Constitution debate, ending the parliamentary impasse.

Cong decides to alter its strategy and end the standoff after pressure from some members of the INDIA bloc and its own MPs who are eager to bring up the matter in Parliament.Following the release of dates for a special discussion on the Constitution in both Houses, the administration and the opposition reached a deal Monday, ending the week-long deadlock in Parliament.Since the winter session began on November 25, the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha have been stalled over a number of issues, including recent Sambhal violence, Manipur unrest, and Adani's indictment by US prosecutors in an alleged bribery case. The opposition leaders said they would work with the government to ensure that these bodies operate smoothly.
Both the government and the opposition parties decided to hold a special session to discuss the Constitution during a meeting of floor leaders from all parties called by Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla.Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju expressed confidence that both Houses will operate smoothly starting Tuesday, stating that the Rajya Sabha will consider the Constitution on December 16–17 and the Lok Sabha will debate it on December 13–14. In order to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Constituent Assembly's adoption of the Constitution, Rijiju, who was present at the meeting, informed reporters that the opposition parties had called for talks on the matter. Speaker Birla met with a number of opposition MPs earlier in the day to discuss the Constitution and to ask him to set up times for it.
