He remained in this capacity during the previous NDA administration, which was led by the BJP.Doval, an IPS officer from the 1968 batch, is well-known for his expertise in nuclear matters and counterterrorism.Doval was the IB's operational chief in Punjab."The nomination of Shri Ajit Doval, lPS (Retired), as National Security Adviser would take effect on June 10, 2024, as approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.His appointment will run concurrently with the prime minister's term or until new directives are given, whichever comes first. He will be given the Cabinet Minister status in the Table of Precedence for the duration of his term in office, according to the announcement. For the third time in a row, Narendra Modi took the oath of office as prime minister of India. PK Mishra was also reappointed by the cabinet's appointments committee to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's position as Principal Secretary. The appointment of Dr. PK Mishra, IAS (Retired), as Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, effective June 10, 2024, has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet.The Government of India said in a letter that "his appointment will be co-terminus with the term of the Prime Minister or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
" The appointment of Amit Khare, lAS (Retired) (JH:1985), and Tarun Kapoor, lAS (Retired) (HP:1987), as Prime Minister Modi's advisors, has also been approved by the Cabinet. "The following officers have been approved for appointment as Advisors to the PM in the Prime Minister's Office, with the approval of the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet. They will hold the rank and scale of Secretary to Government of India, and their appointment will be effective from June 10, 2024, until further orders are issued, whichever comes first.
