AORT WORTH, Texas — Among the major airlines, American Airlines cancelled the fewest flights during the winter holiday travel season, but it operated much more on-time flights than during the previous year's holiday travel period, demonstrating once again its great operational performance for its passengers.
Despite severe weather in several areas of the nation and a sizable amount of unscheduled, non-air carrier operations that caused an increase in air traffic control delays, American managed to accomplish this impressive accomplishment.Customers entrust American to operate safely and dependably when they purchase tickets, and I'm happy to report that, in spite of holiday headwinds like difficult weather and more air traffic control congestion, we were able to live up to that commitment,” said David Seymour, Chief Operating Officer of American. "We are grateful to our federal partners, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), for their vital contributions to the success of this holiday travel season."
