Many people use protein powders and supplements to satisfy their post-workout nutritional and fitness needs. Malaika Arora, however, adopts a different strategy. After working out, she would rather go home and eat a healthy breakfast.

She stated that she usually eats straightforward, home-cooked foods like toast, eggs, or dosas after working out rather than expensive protein shakes or prepackaged supplements in an interview with Soha Ali Khan, in which she costarred with celebrity nutritionist Rujuta Diwekar. "I'll eat a homemade protein smoothie, which is a necessary protein. Put everything in a blender and enjoy—it might be dates, bananas, or nuts. You know, I'm not really a fan of powders and such.
