According to Aer Linguss 2024 travel trends, travelers strongly want spontaneity.

This year, over half (60%) of Irish people are likely to take two or more vacations overseas, according to fresh travel trends released by Aer Lingus during the January sale, which finishes at midnight on Monday, January 15. For flights departing from North America and Europe in 2024, there are almost 4 million discounted tickets available, with prices as low as 179 euros for a round-trip ticket. There are also flights to Europe and the UK available at an amazing 25% off.The focus on travel for the upcoming year is evident in the 63% of respondents who made resolutions, of whom 41% listed travel as a top priority, along with financial and health objectives.
Ideal locations: Spain tops the list of preferred travel destinations in Europe for 2024, with 60% of travelers choosing it, followed by Portugal (30%) and France (26%). Other popular travel spots are Sicily, Turkey, and the Greek Islands. Travelers looking to satisfy their curiosity about other cultures will have interesting chances when Aer Lingus launches new flights to Crete, Sicily, and Turkey in the summer of 2024, coinciding with this growing interest in discovering new places.
Travel patterns With 57% of respondents naming leisure as their primary motive for travel, the majority of those questioned are hoping for a restful vacation this year. This is followed by 15% who are looking for adventure and 16% who intend to travel to see friends or family. The survey also shows that the two most popular things people want to do when traveling in 2024 are explore cities (53%), and spend lazy days at the beach (55%). Outdoor activities (34%) are another popular option, as are going to concerts and cultural events (26%), and watching or taking part in sports (14%). Notably, women are more likely than men to enjoy relaxing on the beach (61%), while men are more likely to prefer exploring cities (53%).
