Globally, the number of applications to graduate business school programs rose by a remarkable 12% between 2023 and 2024.According to a report by the Graduate Management Admission Council (GMAC), an association of graduate business schools worldwide, the United States continues to be a top study destination for overseas students who choose to pursue business programs.According to the publication, "Application Trends Survey 2024 – 2024 Business School Applications Skyrocket amidst Economic Uncertainty," women's business applications declined slightly to 42% in 2024 after hovering around 40% for the previous ten years.

According to a statement from the report, "55 percent of programs have observed growth in applications from women, a 10-percentage point jump from 2023 and the second-largest share of programs reporting increasing applications from women over the past decade — next only to the pandemic boom in 2020." The report predicted that the majority of MBA programs would see an increase in female applicants, with about two-thirds of full-time MBA programs and 70 percent of flex MBA programs seeing such growth.
