The number of accepted offers for one crore or more was misreported as 85 in the phase-I placements (December 1–20, 2023) reports. According to IIT-Bombay, there were actually 22 bids for one crore plus that were approved.According to IIT-Bombay, 22 bids for one crore plus have actually been accepted.In the first wave of placements, which took place in December, just 22 students from IIT Bombay were offered Rs one crore and beyond. The Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IIT-B) revealed last week that a whopping eighty-five candidates had received salary offers exceeding one crore rupees. This is a significant increase above the twenty-five offers that were made the previous year. But today, the institute released an update."The phase-I placements (December 1-20, 2023) incorrectly reported the number of accepted Rs one crore plus offers as 85," reads an official statement from the placement office of IIT Bombay. 22 is the actual number of one crore plus offers that were accepted. The accuracy of all other reported data has been verified.

IIT Bombay's Placement Office deeply regrets this error.Additionally, out of the 22 proposals for over one crore that were approved, three were located domestically and the remaining 19 outside. "In contrast, 16 offers totaling one crore plus were accepted during phase 1 of the placement season 2022–2023, with two of those offers being at home and the remaining 14 being abroad. According to IIT-Bombay, the total number of accepted international offers for phase-1 in the seasons 2022–2023 and 2023–2024 stayed at 63.The data on offers totaling more than one crore has been updated in the placement office's previous news release from the Indian Institute of Technology-Bombay (IIT-B). 22 students—three domestic and 19 foreign—have landed yearly compensation packages totaling Rs 1 crore or more in the first round of placements.
