Passenger traffic at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport increased by 35% to 51.58 million. This was facilitated by the over 25.4 million arrivals and 26.1 million exits of passengers, respectively. A 20% rise in aircraft movements (334,391) was observed by CSMIA in tandem with an increase in both domestic and international passenger traffic.In addition to reaching a record-breaking single-day passenger peak of 167,132 on November 25 and a single-day record of 1,032 aircraft movements on November 11, the CSMIA had its highest monthly traffic of 4.89 million in December. When compared to pre-pandemic levels, it showed a 110% recovery.CSMIA’s travel trends in 2023 reveal Delhi, Bangalore, and Chennai to be favored domestic destinations, while Dubai, London, and Abu Dhabi continue to attract international travelers. On November 11, 2023, CSMIA recorded record-breaking ATMs and on November 25, 2023, the highest-ever single-day passenger movement, achieving an astounding 110% recovery in passenger traffic compared to the pre-pandemic era.On the other hand, December 2023 saw 4.89 million passengers pass through the airport each month, a significant 13% increase over December 2022. Without a doubt, CSMIA is riding the aviation wave with unmatched success.
