Methods for Increasing Postpartum Family Planning

The WHO FP Accelerator Plus project helps Ministries of Health (MoH) and partners scale up and maintain gender-responsive programming practices that are evidence-based and based on family planning (FP). "Strategies for scaling up Post pregnancy Family Planning" is the title of a guidebook that the Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research (SRH) is currently creating as part of this initiative.

This document responds to requests from nations, partners, and the scientific community for the WHO to provide guidelines on effective strategies for scaling up post-pregnancy family planning (PPFP). It also aims to provide strategies for scaling and maintaining the implementation of postpartum and post-abortion family planning. The IBP Network is coordinating a virtual consultation with the SRH Department that will concentrate on post-pregnancy family planning techniques for scaling up. TheThe virtual public consultation's goals are as follows: To give a quick summary of the post-pregnancy family planning bottleneck analysis To provide a summary of the Scaling-up Strategies for Post-Pregnancy Family Planning advice document to gather input on the national issues and gaps that should be addressed in the strategy document for postpartum family planning scalability.
