Dr. Sabrina Jedlicka, the varsity's deputy provost for graduate education, discussed the controversy's effects in an exclusive interview with The Indian Express.Lehigh University in the US has started reviewing documents submitted by other international students on campus and is looking into third-party verification of academic transcripts for undergraduate admissions after being rocked by a recent controversy involving one of its Indian students who fabricated his Board marksheets for admission and then boasted about it on Reddit, a senior official told The Indian Express.

Aryan Anand, 19, applied for a full scholarship at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, by submitting falsified documents, such as financial accounts, academic credentials, and a phony death certificate for his father.On February 23, Anand revealed the intricate scam in an anonymous Reddit post. A 19-year-old Faridabad BTech student, another Redditor, found and pieced it together.On April 30, Anand, a student of computer science, was taken into custody and accused of forgery, tampering with data, theft by deceit, and theft of services. On August 15 of this year, he entered a guilty plea in Northampton County and was sent to India. Lehigh University is one of the top 50 national universities in America, per the US News and World Report rankings.
