In the recent past, India's Got Latent has also received a lot of criticism. The show has frequently blurred the boundaries between humor and bullying, as evidenced by Samay Raina's roast of Kusha Kapila, Uorfi Javed's exit from the set after a participant likened her to adult film star Mia Khalifa, or stand-up comic Bunty Banerjee's mockery of Deepika Padukone's battle with depression.During an appearance on a show hosted by comedian Samay Raina, podcast host Ranveer Allahbadia made a remark that was blatantly crude and completely unneeded. Although his remarks were intended only for a select group of channel subscribers who watch the show, it was not surprise that they elicited heated emotions. Two other states have filed formal complaints, and artist B Praak has canceled his planned participation on Ranveer's show.Additionally, he has already lost the most important asset in the market right now—social media followers—and could lose brand partnerships. When the situation started to get out of control, Ranveer uploaded a video in which he expressed regret for his words and acknowledged that he had gone too far. After facing harsh criticism and scrutiny, the show's host, Samay Raina, removed all of the videos. It's worth stopping to consider whether we are becoming offended too easily these days, even though the joke was problematic and, to be honest, sounded like a desperate attempt to sound cool or attempt black humor.

When did we start being sanctimonious and intolerant at the same time? We either use someone else's error as fodder for a witch hunt, a meme fest, or a news item that competes for broadcast with issues of national significance. After a man made a grave mistake, musicians, movie producers, forgotten TV performers, cops from two states, and even the chief minister of Maharashtra expressed their indignation and started legal action within hours.A careless joke has caused more distress than all of our current issues in a society where both men and women with criminal records are elected to parliament to make important decisions for our nation. Concerns about whether this incident will be used to support more government control and censorship of new media and content producers who are highly popular due to their direct audience connection are unavoidable.
