BJP's Unexpected Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh to Be Mohan Yadav

"Shivraj Singh Chouhan is replaced by Mohan Yadav, 58, the Higher Education Minister in the departing government, who was elected from the Ujjain Dakshin seat. Only 15 days after the BJP crushed the Congress to win Madhya Pradesh, Mr. Yadav was chosen as the party's legislative leader on Monday night. In a thank-you note, the departing Higher Education Minister said, ""I am a small party worker... I thank the party for this opportunity.""
""I thank all of you... state and central leadership (and), with your love and support, I will try to fulfil my responsibilities,"" Mr Yadav, festooned with garlands, said after the meeting of the MLAs.Soon after the BJP announcement, Mr Yadav met Governor Mangubhai Patel and staked a claim to form the next government.
