EU Verifies Tariffs on EVs Manufactured in China

As per the EU Commission, new import duties will go into effect on Friday and last for at least four months.A number of automakers, whose executives fear retaliation from an intensifying trade war, had hoped for a solution, but their dreams were dashed when the European Union reaffirmed intentions to apply extra duties on Chinese-made electric cars.
Following a nine-month study, the EU has agreed to add temporary tariffs to the current 10 percent import charge on electric vehicles coming from China, for a total import duty of almost 48 percent.three hours prior
